2025 Australasian Coasts and Ports Conference

Two of Agilitus’ engineers, Ben Knowles and Udaya Kilgour (Sathiamurthy), were recently invited to share their insights at the 2025 Australasian Coasts and Ports Conference.

“I’m very thankful for having the opportunity to present at the 2025 Australasian Coasts and Ports Conference surrounded by industry leaders, port operators and marine contractors. It was a great opportunity to showcase, in collaboration with our client Mineral Resources Limited, the challenges and benefits of integrating automatic mooring units into the detailed design we undertook for the Onslow Iron Project,” said Ben, Discipline Lead – Ports & Marine.

“The conference was highly informative and provided valuable insights into recent innovations within the industry. I had the opportunity to co-present alongside our client partner from Fremantle Ports, which highlighted the importance of collaboration in achieving successful outcomes. Our joint presentation emphasised the design of sustainable and durable remediation strategies, aligning with Fremantle Ports’ environmental and sustainability goals, and long-term performance standards. The presentation also reinforced the value of integrating client perspectives early in the design process,” said Udaya, Materials and Durability Specialist.

The four-day conference, held at the Adelaide Convention Centre, explored the theme Navigating the Future: Climate Ready Coasts and Ports.

An important conversation for the Ports and Marine sector – exploring the global challenges facing coastal infrastructure, maritime transport, and environmental sustainability – focusing on cutting-edge research, best practices and latest technologies.

It was a privilege for Agilitus to be part of this industry conversation.
